Couple photoshoot on the bridges and side streets of the canal ring
A couple photoshoot that moves between the canals and the narrow streets connecting them: canal railings lined with bikes, a side street hung with flags, a bench under a street lamp, a wooden bridge and a coffee to finish. One hour.
Session at a glance
- Session: Couple session
- Where: Amsterdam canal ring
- How long: One hour
- In this story: 18 photos and the route we walked
Where we walked
1. Along the canal
We started at a canal railing lined with parked bikes, then a close embrace under the bare trees by the water.
2. A side street with flags
The short streets that cross between the canals are narrower and quieter. One of them was hung with flags, which gives a long, colourful frame behind a kiss.
3. A bench under a street lamp
A bench facing the canal, with an old lamp beside it: a few frames from behind, looking out over the water, are often the ones couples print.
4. A wooden bridge
On a wooden bridge in front of tall brown canal houses we photographed a walk across, then sitting together on the boards.
5. Doors, shutters and a coffee
We finished with a pair of wreathed double doors, a house with red shutters and a coffee at a canal railing with the whole canal behind.
Why mix canals and side streets
The canals give the wide, open Amsterdam frames; the side streets give closeness and colour. Alternating between them every few minutes keeps a one-hour gallery varied.
